Description
Al-Hikmah: Jurnal Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IAI Badrus Sholeh Kediri, Indonesia. The journal is issued biannually (April and October) and serves as a platform for studies that link theory, development, and evaluation of educational practices to improve the quality of learning.
This journal welcomes high-quality research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reviews that explore issues related to:
- Islamic education theory and practice
- Innovative teaching methods in religious and general education
- Curriculum development in Islamic educational settings
- Management and leadership of Islamic educational institutions
- Integration of Islamic values within education and learning processes

History of the Journal
Al Hikmah: Jurnal Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan was established as part of IAI Badrus Sholeh’s commitment to advancing Islamic and educational scholarship. Since its first issue, the journal has aimed to foster academic dialogue and contribute to the development of educational and Islamic studies at both national and international levels.
This journal was first published in print on December 30, 2011, with ISSN number 2089-5232. After its initial publication, the journal was temporarily discontinued. When the journal resumed publication in print in 2014, there was a change in management. The new management at that time was unaware that the journal already had a print ISSN, so they reapplied for a print ISSN.
As a result of this reapplication, the journal obtained the print ISSN 2406-7709, which was published on September 17, 2014. A similar situation occurred again in 2015, when the journal management reapplied for a print ISSN without knowing about the previous ISSN, resulting in the publication of the print ISSN 2476-9037 on October 20, 2015.
Based on official instructions sent via email from BRIN, the two print ISSNs published in 2011 and 2014 (2089-5232 and 2406-7709) were revoked to avoid duplicate ISSN ownership. Thus, the print ISSN 2476-9037 was designated as the valid print ISSN used by the journal.
Furthermore, the journal ceased publication of its print version during the period 2015–2020. Since 2021, the journal has been republished in online format, restarting the edition numbering from the first edition, in accordance with journal management policies and the transition to online publishing.
