For centuries, exegetical studies have tended to be divided between the traditional textual style and the rational-contextual modern approach. This study seeks to bridge this dichotomy by conceptually examining the contributions of Muslim philosophers such as Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Mulla Sadra within the epistemological framework of knowledge, and connecting them with the philosophical hermeneutics theories of Hans-Georg Gadamer and Paul Ricoeur. Through a qualitative-analytical approach to primary and secondary literature, this research finds that the transdisciplinary exegesis epistemology emphasizes the importance of dialogue among the text, reason, and the reader's socio-cultural context. The results indicate that the integration of Islamic philosophy and modern hermeneutics can broaden the horizon of exegetical understanding from mere textual interpretation towards a dynamic signification that aligns with the development of science and contemporary human realities. Thus, this model potentially serves as a new paradigm in Qur’anic exegesis studies that is more reflective, rational, and humanistic.
2025-12-28T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://ejournal.badrussholeh.ac.id/index.php/samawat/article/view/446Kritik Atas Bias Ideologi Dalam Tafsir Al-Kasyaf: Studi Tentang Ru’yatullah Dalam Q.S Al-A’raf ayat 1432025-05-28T02:53:49+07:00Jumiatul Faridajumiatulfarida13@gmail.comRahmad Hidayathdytrhmd72@gmail.comNajib Irsyadinajibirsyad@uin-antasari.ac.id
This article examines Imam Al-Zamakhshari’s interpretation of Surah Al-A‘raf verse 143 in Tafsir Al-Kashshaf, focusing on the influence of Mu‘tazilite theology on his understanding of the concept of ru’yatullah (the vision of God). Using a qualitative approach and descriptive-analytical method, this study analyzes Al-Zamakhshari’s exegetical reasoning alongside theological and classical tafsir literature. The findings reveal that Al-Zamakhshari firmly denies the possibility of seeing God, either in this world or the hereafter, based on the Mu‘tazilite principles of divine transcendence (tanzih) and rational argumentation. His rejection is supported by linguistic analysis, rhetorical strategies, and strong criticism of Ahl al-Sunnah, who uphold the belief in ru’yatullah under the doctrine of bilā kaifa. However, the study also highlights the presence of significant ideological bias in his tafsir, as reflected in his exclusive theological stance and dismissive tone toward opposing views. This article argues for a more critical reading of ideologically charged exegesis and advocates for a moderate, inclusive, and pluralistic approach in Qur’anic interpretation within the Islamic tradition
2025-12-28T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025
